2015 Big Ten Men's Gymnastics Championships Preview
The 2015 Big Ten Men's Gymnastics Championships, hosted by Penn State University, begin Friday and conclude Saturday at Rec Hall in University Park, Pa. Friday's session will feature the team and all-around competitions, while the individual event finals will be held during Saturday evening's portion of the championships. BTN will provide live coverage of both sessions, with events on Friday and Saturday beginning at 7 p.m. ET.

Michigan claimed its 17th Big Ten Championship and second consecutive crown last season. Ohio State finished second, followed by third-place Penn State, fourth-place Illinois and fifth-place Minnesota. The Fighting Illini lead all Big Ten schools with 27 team championships, followed by Minnesota with 21.

Four Big Ten student-athletes will look to defend their event titles at the championships. Ohio State's Sean Melton will look to repeat on the parallel bars and high bar, while teammate Jake Martin will look to duplicate his crown on the vault. Penn State's Trevor Howard aims for his second straight title on the rings, while Minnesota's Ellis Mannon will aim to defend his title onthe pommel horse. At the conclusion of last year's championships, Michigan's Sam Mikulak was named the Big Ten Gymnast of the Year, while Ohio State's Melton was tabbed the Big Ten Freshman of the Year.

All seven Big Ten squads enter the conference championships ranked in the latest Road to Nationals Top 20 poll. Penn State leads the way at No. 2, followed by No. 4 Michigan, No. 5 Illinois, No. 6 Minnesota and No. 7 Iowa. Ohio State and Nebraska are ranked No. 9 and No. 11, respectively.
