ROSEMONT, Ill. – All seven Big Ten men’s gymnastics teams will begin competition at the NCAA Men’s Gymnastics Championships on Thursday, hosted at St. John Arena on the campus of Ohio State. Teams will compete in one-of-two pre-qualifying sessions in advance of the team and all-around finals on Friday, while the individual event finals will be held on Saturday.
The top three teams and top three individual all-around competitors will advance from each pre-qualifying session to the finals. The top three individuals from each event, not already qualified on a team or as an all-around competitor, will also advance.
On Friday at 1 p.m. ET, Minnesota, Penn State and Nebraska will compete in the first pre-qualifying session, while Illinois, Iowa, Michigan and Ohio State will participate in the second pre-qualifying session at 7 p.m. Team, all-around and event finals will take place on Saturday. All sessions will be streamed online at NCAA.com.
Last season, Penn State finished third at the NCAA Championships, posting a score of 439.500, while Michigan placed fourth (437.650) and Iowa was sixth (427.450).
