The Big Ten office announced the dates and opponents for the 2018-19 hockey season Tuesday, featuring 24-game schedules for each of the seven conference programs. The schedule concludes with the 2019 Big Ten Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament, to be held over three weekends in March.

All seven teams will open Big Ten play in the first three weeks of November. In the opening weekend, reigning Big Ten Tournament Champion Notre Dame will play host to Ohio State (Nov. 2-3) in a rematch of the championship game of the 2018 Big Ten Tournament. Minnesota makes its debut by visiting Wisconsin the following weekend (Nov. 9-10), while Michigan opens its conference slate with a Friday-Saturday home series against the Fighting Irish (Nov. 9-10). Michigan State will make its Big Ten debut with a series against Notre Dame Nov. 16-17, the same weekend that Penn State will open its 2018-19 Big Ten schedule by welcoming Michigan.

The second half of the season is highlighted by a men's basketball and hockey doubleheader at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Jan. 26. Illinois will face Maryland in men’s basketball, while Michigan will host Penn State in hockey in the fourth annual Super Saturday doubleheader. The Wolverines and Nittany Lions met in the inaugural Super Saturday doubleheader in 2016, with Michigan claiming a 6-3 victory in front of 13,479 fans.

The final regular-season games will take place March 1-2, with Penn State traveling to Notre Dame, Michigan State visiting Ohio State and Michigan playing at Wisconsin.

The 2019 Big Ten Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament will feature a three-weekend format with all games taking place on the campus of the higher-seeded teams. The tournament will open March 8-10 with three best-of-three quarterfinal series, as the second-, third- and fourth-seeded teams will each host a series. The top-seeded team will have a bye to the single-elimination semifinals, which are scheduled for Saturday, March 16. The highest-seeded team remaining after the semifinals will host a championship game scheduled for Saturday, March 23.
