Rickey Pinkney, Purdue

Pinkney collects Athlete of the Week honors after leading the Boilermakers at the Purdue Invitational on Saturday.  The defending Big Ten indoor 60-meter hurdles champion began his 2006 campaign by notching a provisional qualifying mark in the event with a time of 7.88. Pinkney's time in the hurdle event marks the third best in Purdue history. He also ran on the first-place 4x400 relay that crossed the finish line in 3:23.86. His hand in two victories was part of the Boilermakers' effort that claimed nine events. This is Pinkney's first weekly honor of his career.
