Ohio State and Minnesota Earn Weekly Honors

Track Athlete of the Week Ohio State's Thomas Murdaugh earned two first-place finishes last weekend in helping the Buckeyes' 88-74 victory against Michigan. Murdaugh ran a time of 46.75 in the 400-meter dash, which ranks as the top Division I time so far this season. The junior All-American also anchored the five-time defending Big Ten Champion 4x400-meter relay team to victory in 3:11.44, the ninth-best NCAA Division I time posted this year. Field Athlete of the Week Minnesota's Micah Hegerle earned first place in the weight throw last weekend at the Minnesota Open with a toss of 66-2 1/4. The throw was a personal best as well as the fifth-best throw in Golden Gopher history. The mark also ranks as the fifth best throw in the country so far this season.
