The conference office announced on Monday the weekly men's indoor track and field awards. Ohio State's Thomas Murdaugh was recognized as Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week, while Minnesota's Micah Hegerle received Field Athlete of the Week accolades.

Ohio State's Thomas Murdaugh earned two first-place finishes last weekend in helping the Buckeyes' 88-74 victory against Michigan. Murdaugh ran a time of 46.75 in the 400-meter dash, which ranks as the top Division I time so far this season. The junior All-American also anchored the five-time defending Big Ten Champion 4x400-meter relay team to victory in 3:11.44, the ninth-best NCAA Division I time posted this year.

Micah Hegerle - Minnesota

Minnesota's Micah Hegerle earned first place in the weight throw last weekend at the Minnesota Open with a toss of 66-2 1/4. The throw was a personal best as well as the fifth-best throw in Golden Gopher history. The mark also ranks as the fifth best throw in the country so far this season. This honor is the sophomore's first weekly award of the season and the first for Minnesota this year.
