Brannen shares Athlete of the Week honors for the second straight week after running the second-fastest indoor mile in collegiate history. He finished fifth at the Reebok Boston Indoor Games with a time of 3:55.11. The senior bettered his personal best in the event by almost three seconds and missed the 31-year old collegiate record by just 0.11 seconds. With the performance, the Cambridge, Ont., native set a new Canadian senior indoor and Wolverines' school record, as well as an NCAA automatic qualifying time. Brannen was also named national athlete of the week for Division I by the United States Track Coaches Association (USTCA).

Omole ran the third fastest time in the nation and set a UW record in the 60-meter dash at the Illinois Invitational on Saturday. The sophomore won the event in 6.62 seconds which was an NCAA automatic qualifying mark and an Illinois facility record. The Whitefish Bay, Wis., native picks up the first weekly accolade of his career and is the first Badger to win the award since Matt Tegenkamp on Feb. 12, 2002.
