Matt Tegenkamp, Wisconsin

Tegenkamp set his second Badgers' record in as many weeks after finishing first in the 5,000-meters at the Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash., over the weekend. The senior tri-captain ran the nation's fastest time of 13:36.48, bettering his own all-time Conference best and previous UW record of 13:44.06 set in 2004. The Lee's Summit, Mo., native also earned an NCAA automatic qualifying time with his mark in the 5,000-meter run.
This is Tegenkamp's first indoor accolade of the season and second of his career as he was also honored on Feb. 12, 2002.
