Through Friday, the Big Ten will highlight each of the 22 student-athletes nominated for the conference's Jesse Owens Male and Suzy Favor Female Athlete of the Year Awards. Award winners are voted on by a pre-selected media panel and will be announced live on the Big Ten Network's season-ending awards show on Monday at 6:30 p.m. CT.
DEREK DROUIN - INDIANA - TRACK & FIELD
A junior from Corunna, Ontario, Drouin won his third NCAA title in the high jump, and his second-straight indoors on March 12, clearing a Canadian-record tying 7-7.75. His jump broke the all-time Big Ten record as well and earned him National Field Athlete of the Year honors. He is the first Big Ten athlete ever to garner the National Field Athlete of the Year award. Click HERE for more information on Derek.
