Big Ten Athlete of the Year Nominee - NEB's Chad Wright

Through Tuesday, the Big Ten will highlight each of the 24 student-athletes nominated for the conference's Athlete of the Year awards. Award winners are voted on by a pre-selected media panel and will be announced next week.

Chad Wright - Nebraska - Men's Track & Field
Wright became the Big Ten's all-time leader in the discus with a second-place throw of 63.74 meters at the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Championships. His effort was a personal-best and also ranks second all-time at Nebraska. Wright also placed fifth in the shot put at the outdoor meet to earn his second All-America honor of the season. A first-team All-Big Ten honoree, Wright recorded a first-place finish in the shot put at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships with a heave of 19.39 meters on his final throw and a second-place mark at the Indoor Championships.
