Taylor eclipsed his own collegiate record once again, narrowly missing the NCAA record in the weight throw by one centimeter. The senior's winning distance of 78-91/4 (24.01m) in the weight throw set Ohio State and French Field House records. In the shot put, Taylor recorded a season-best mark of 67-1.25 (20.45m). Last year's Big Ten Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year has won every event he has competed in during the 2004 season.
