ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Big Ten on Sunday announced the 2017 Big Ten Men's Lacrosse Tournament bracket, with Maryland earning the No. 1 seed after winning the outright Big Ten Championship. The tournament will be hosted by Ohio State at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on May 4 and May 6.
The top four teams in the conference standings advanced to the Big Ten Tournament. Maryland finished the Big Ten season with a 4-1 conference mark, followed by second-seeded Ohio State (3-2), No. 3 Johns Hopkins (3-2) and fourth-seeded Penn State (3-2). Ohio State earned the No. 2 seed and Johns Hopkins claimed the No. 3 seed based on conference tiebreaking procedures.
The tournament begins on Thursday, May 4, with Maryland taking on Penn State beginning at 5 p.m. ET, followed by the Buckeyes facing Johns Hopkins at approximately 7:30 p.m. The championship game on Saturday, May 6, will begin at 7:30 p.m., with the winner earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. BTN will air both semifinals and the championship game.
