Indiana vs. Ohio State
November 11, 2005
Post-Game News Conference

John Bluem, Ohio State Head Soccer Coach
"Against Indiana, you can't have a bad first half. They capitalized on some mistakes, so we were going into halftime down 2-1. That is a big hill to climb against a team like
Indiana."

Mike Fretaig, Indiana Head Soccer Coach
Opening Statement...
"I am very proud of my team today. The last time we played Ohio State they outplayed us in some aspects of the game. Today was a good opportunity to show our improvement in those areas. Ohio State has got good fighting power. They fight hard for balls. In the past that has been a weakness of ours. Today we matched their intensity and fighting power and also played very good soccer."

On not having the first-round bye...
"It is unusual, but I think it may be a blessing in disguise. Maybe this extra game will
make us more prepared for the NCAA Tournament and game-ready."

On the physicality of today's game...
"This game was not as physical today. To me, we controlled and moved the ball much
quicker today. Sure there were some physical confrontations, but by us possessing the ball better we eliminated some of the physicality."

On playing Penn State on Sunday...
"I am very happy with the match-up on Sunday. The game earlier in the year at
Bloomington got away from us. We are looking to erase that one and get even with
them."

On what makes this Indiana team special...
"This team is deep and has a lot of quality players. Sometimes this team has played as well or better as any team in Indiana's past. This team can do it on both sides of the ball.  Offensively, they can create a little magic. Defensively, when we are on and everyone does their job, we can shut teams down too. I am hoping we can continue that on Sunday."
