2015 MLS SuperDraft

The 2015 Major League Soccer SuperDraft wrapped up on Tuesday, with Maryland’s Dan Metzger, Michigan State’s Fatai Alashe, Northwestern’s Tyler Miller, Michigan State’s Adam Montague, Maryland’s Alex Shinsky and Penn State’s Andrew Wolverton being drafted by MLS clubs.

Alashe was the first Big Ten student-athlete selected with the fourth overall pick to the San Jose Earthquakes. This season, he was recognized with Big Ten All-Tournament Team honors.

Miller was drafted by the Seattle Sounders in the second round. During the 2014 campaign, he was a unanimous choice as Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year, a unanimous selection to the All-Big Ten First Team and was named a second-team All-American.

Metzger was drafted to D.C. United in the second round. The midfielder from Holmdel, N.Y., led the Terrapins to both the Big Ten Championship and the tournament title, while also being named first-team All-Big Ten.

Montague was chosen by the Vancouver Whitecaps in the third round. This season, Montague earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors.

Shinsky was drafted by the Chicago Fire in the fourth round. During the 2014 season, he was a selection to the All-Big Ten First Team.

Wolverton was chosen by the LA Galaxy during the fourth round. This season, the goalkeeper was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team.
