The 2006 Big Ten men's soccer season opens Friday, Aug. 25, with Northwestern taking on Hofstra at home while Ohio State is set to host Hartwick, Furman and conference rival No. 13 Penn State in the Ohio State Classic. Michigan will also debut at home as the Wolverines will entertain No. 17 St. John's. No. 12 Indiana, Michigan State and Wisconsin will all begin this year's campaign on the road as IU travels to South Bend, Ind. to take on Creighton in the Mike Berticelli Memorial Tournament. The Spartans are west-coast bound to face Sacramento State while Wisconsin will compete in the Tulsa Tournament in Tulsa, Okla.
Michigan State continues action on Saturday, Aug. 26 against UC Riverside while the remaining six conference squads take to the field again on Sunday, Aug. 27.
