The 2005 Big Ten men's soccer season opens Thursday, September 1, with Michigan taking on Detroit at home. Northwestern, Ohio State, and defending NCAA champion Indiana all debut at home on Friday while Penn State opens on the road at the Ohio State Tournament. The Wildcats will entertain Western Kentucky while the co-Big Ten champion Buckeyes and Hoosiers will face Marquette and No. 10 Wake Forest, respectively. Penn State will host Marquette.
Defending Big Ten Tournament champion Michigan State kicks off its 2005 campaign at home on Sunday against Massachusetts. Wisconsin will be in action against Drake at the Big Toe Soccer Invitational in Madison, Wisc. Michigan and Michigan State continue play on Monday at the Michigan State Invitational as the Wolverines play Masachusetts and the Spartans do battle with Denver.
