The Big Ten Network will air 26 regular season Big Ten field hockey and men's and women's soccer contests during the 2008 fall season beginning with men's soccer on August 31. The women's soccer television schedule starts on Sept. 14, while field hockey games will start running on the network Sept. 28. The Big Ten Network's coverage will also include selected games from the Big Ten Men's Soccer Championship and Big Ten Field Hockey and Women's Soccer Tournaments in November.
Men's soccer coverage will kick off on Sunday, Aug. 31, when 2007 Big Ten regular season champion Indiana hosts Akron at 2 p.m. ET. The Hoosiers will appear three more times throughout the season including an Oct. 26 matchup with last year's national runner-up Ohio State, which knocked off Indiana in the 2007 Big Ten Championship final. The women's soccer schedule will begin on Sunday, Sept. 14 as Ohio State plays Duke at 1 p.m. ET.
Penn State, fresh off its 10th-consecutive Big Ten Championship, is scheduled to compete live on the network twice, hosting Notre Dame on Sept. 21 and Wisconsin on Oct. 5. Big Ten Tournament Champion Purdue will battle Iowa live on the network on Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. ET.
The field hockey lineup includes six regular season contests beginning with 2007 national runner-up Penn State battling Ohio State on Sunday, Sept. 28, tape-delayed at 4 p.m. ET. Last year's conference champion Michigan will appear twice on Oct. 17 and Nov. 2. Big Ten Tournament Champion Iowa will appear three times on the network on Oct. 10, Oct. 25 and Nov. 2.
