Big Ten Men's Soccer Opens This Weekend

Rosemont, Ill. - The 2014 Big Ten men's soccer season is set to get underway this weekend, with all nine conference teams officially beginning the campaign on Friday. Eight Big Ten squads will also host matches on Sunday.
Maryland, ranked No. 2 in the NSCAA preseason top 25 poll, will open its inaugural season as a Big Ten member at No. 14 Louisville, while Indiana, Michigan, No. 10 Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, No. 15 Penn State, Rutgers and No. 21 Wisconsin will open the season at home.
On Friday, Michigan State will entertain SMU, while Penn State challenges Oakland and Wisconsin hosts San Francisco. Michigan is set to face Florida International, and Northwestern will host Quinnipiac in the Lakeside Classic. Ohio State hosts the Bert and Iris Wolstein Classic, and will take on UC Davis. Indiana will entertain No. 9 Georgetown in the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic, and Rutgers will host UMKC.
