PARK RIDGE, Ill. – Indiana and Northwestern have earned Big Ten men’s soccer weekly honors, the conference announced on Monday. Northwestern’s Chris Ritter takes home Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while Indiana’s Tommy Meyer earns recognition on the defensive end.
Offensive Player of the Week
Chris Ritter, Northwestern
M – Jr. – Winnetka, Ill. – New Trier
- Led his team to wins over UC Davis (1-0) and Xavier (2-0)
- Tallied four points on two goals over the weekend
- Named the MVP of the Lakeside Classic
- Earns the first weekly award of his career

Defensive Player of the Week
Tommy Meyer, Indiana
D – Sr. – St. Louis, Mo. – SLUH
- Anchored the Hoosier defense that posted back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 2009
- Played all 110 minutes in 0-0 tie against No. 14 St. Johns
- Assisted on both goals in 2-0 win over Rutgers
- Earns the first weekly award of his career
