Wisconsin swept the weekly awards for men's soccer as seniors Brandon Miller and Alex Horwath raked in Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week honors for games played through Sept. 14-20, the conference office announced today.

Offensive Player of the Week:
Brandon Miller, Wisconsin
Senior Midfielder - Vadnais Heights, Minn. - Totino Grace

Senior Brandon Miller collects his first weekly accolade of the 2009 campaign after netting the game-winning goal in the 69th minute of the Badgers' 1-0 triumph over Oakland on Friday. The Vadnais Heights, Minn., native then added a second score in the 82nd minute on Sunday to give the Badgers their 1-1 draw with No. 9 UC Santa Barbara. Overall, Miller posted four points on three shots while playing all 200 minutes in the Badgers' weekend games and was named to the Milwaukee Panther Invitational all-tournament team for his performance.

Alex Horwath anchored a Wisconsin defense that allowed just one goal in the Badgers' pair of games over the weekend in the Milwaukee Panther Invitational. The senior garnered his 16th-career shutout the Badgers' 1-0 win over Oakland on Friday, snaring five saves. He then finished with a season-high eight stops Sunday, including two in the second overtime period, to preserve Wisconsin's 1-1 draw with ninth-ranked UC Santa Barbara. For his efforts, Horwath was named to the Milwaukee Panther Invitational all-tournament team. The award marks the fourth weekly honor for Horwath's career, and his second laurel of the 2009 campaign.
