Indiana and Michigan State have earned Big Ten men’s soccer weekly honors, it was announced on Monday. Spartan midfielder Tim Kreutz takes home Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while Hoosier goalkeeper Luis Soffner garners Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Offensive Player of the Week
Tim Kreutz, Michigan State
M – So. – Zurich, Ill. – Lake Zurich  

  • Notched a goal and an assist in Michigan State’s victory over Western Michigan (2-1)
  • Tallied three shots on goal and three points in the Spartans lone game last week
  • Earns the first weekly award of his career
  • Last Michigan State Offensive Player of the Week: Cyrus Saydee (Sept. 20, 2010)

Defensive Player of the Week
Luis Soffner, Indiana
GK – Sr. – St. Louis, Mo. – SLUH 

  • Earned his second-straight shutout, and fifth of the year, in Indiana’s win over Ohio State (2-0)  
  • Tallied six saves in the Hoosiers only game last week
  • Earns the fifth weekly award of his career
  • Last Indiana Defensive Player of the Week: Caleb Konstanski (Sept. 17, 2012)
