Indiana's Kevin Alston scored his first two career goals this weekend with wins over UIC and Michigan State. Both of Alston's goals came in the match-up against Michigan State. The Spartans had yet to suffer a loss this season, but the Maryland native led IU to the victory. The sophomore defender also recorded five total shots on goal over the two-game span. This award is Alston's first of his career.

Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Casey Latchem, Ohio State

Ohio State's Casey Latchem performed flawlessly this past week with dual shutouts over Cal State Bakersfield and Penn State. Both contests resulted in a 1-0 victory for the Buckeyes in which Latchem earned 12 saves. These two shutouts are the fifth and sixth of the season for Latchem. Latchem ranks third in OSU history with 18 career shutouts, just one away form second place on that list. This honor is Latchem's first of his career.
