Indiana and Michigan Take Home Men's Soccer Weekly Awards

Indiana's Eriq Zavaleta was named Offensive Player of the Week.

Indiana and Michigan have earned Big Ten men’s soccer weekly honors, it was announced on Monday. Hoosier forward Eriq Zavaleta garnered Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while Wolverine goalkeeper Adam Grinwis was named Defensive Player of the Week.

  • Tallied 10 points on four goals and two assists in No. 14 Indiana’s victories over Kentucky (4-1) and Wisconsin (2-0)
  • Earned his third and fourth multiple-goal game and third game-winning goal of the season last weekend
  • Earns his third weekly award of the season and the fifth of his career
  • Last Indiana Offensive Player of the Week: Jacob Bushue (Sept. 17, 2012)

Defensive Player of the Week
Adam Grinwis, Michigan
GK – So. – Ada, Mich. – Forest Hills 

  • Notched a career-high 12 saves in Michigan’s lone contest against Penn State last weekend
  • Played all 110 minutes in the Wolverines’ double overtime matchup against the Nittany Lions
  • Earns the first weekly award of his career
