Men's Soccer Player of the Week
Spencer Thompson, Michigan State

Thompson scored his first and second career goals last week with two major wins over No. 3 Notre Dame and No. 21 Michigan. Against Notre Dame, the Spartan freshman netted the only goal of the game routing MSU to a 1-0 victory over the Fighting Irish. Thompson chipped in his second score of the week in a 5-0 success versus the Wolverines. The Michigan native tallied six shots, with three of them on goal. This is Spencer Thompson's first career Player of the Week award.

Men's Soccer Co-Defensive Players of the Week
Chris Austin, Michigan State
Sr., GK, Livonia, Mich./Franklin
Michigan State's Austin had two stellar performances last week shutting out No. 3 Notre Dame and No. 21 Michigan. Austin racked up 10 total saves with seven of them in the Michigan game. The senior goalkeeper now touts a 0.55 GAA and has a save percentage of .877 for the season. The Spartan defender picks up his second weekly award of the season.

Chay Cain, Indiana
Jr., GK, Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley
Cain is the first goalkeeper this year to shut out No. 6 Northwestern in Evanston. Cain faced 12 Wildcat shots coming up with four saves and collecting his seventh win. Against Louisville, the Illinois native also gathered a save and held the Cardinals scoreless before leaving the game due to injury. The Hoosier defender takes home the second weekly award of his career.
