Men’s Soccer Offensive Co-Players of the Week
Kevin Noschang, Indiana

Indiana pulled off an impressive victory last Thursday with a 3-1 upset over No. 9 Notre Dame. Noschang, in just his second start of the season, punched in the game-winning goal in the 27th minute as the Hoosiers remain unbeaten (2-0-2) against top-25 teams. Both of the senior’s scores this season have been game winners. The Cincinnati native picks up his third career weekly accolade.

Doug DeMartin, Michigan State

Michigan State used DeMartin’s two second half goals against No. 14 Illinois-Chicago as a rallying cry enroute to two upset victories. The Spartans downed the nationally ranked Flames at home by a score of 3-1. Three days later, MSU carried that momentum with them into No. 18 Michigan as the Spartans claimed the 1-0 win. DeMartin continues to lead the Big Ten in points (28) and scores (13). The Mason, Mich., native earns his second honor of the season and third of his career.

Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Avery Steinlage, Michigan State
So., GK, Grand Haven, Mich. / Spring Lake
Steinlage stopped 14 shots on goal over the weekend, including 10 saves in a 1-0 shutout victory over No. 18 Michigan. Against No. 14 Illinois-Chicago the sophomore tallied four saves as the Spartans defeated the Flames 3-1. Michigan State is now 7-2 with Steinlage in the box. The Grand Haven, Mich., native takes home his first career Big Ten weekly award.
