Penn State Men's Soccer Clinches Big Ten Regular Season Title

The Penn State men's soccer team claimed the Big Ten regular season title on Sunday with an overtime win at Michigan State. Junior Simon Omekanda scored just under five minutes into the second overtime for the 1-0 victory in East Lansing. With the victory, the Nittany Lions move to 5-0-0 in Big Ten play, and are unable to be caught in the standings. Penn State will be the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten Tournament, which takes place November 10-13 at Northwestern, and therefore have earned a first-round bye. This is the Lions' first outright regular season title, after sharing the title with Wisconsin in 1995.  With the Penn State women's soccer team also earning the No. 1 seed, it is the first time in conference history that both the men's and women's soccer regular season champions are from the same school
