Penn State Clinches Big Ten Men's Soccer Championship

Rosemont, Ill. – The No. 13 Penn State men’s soccer team clinched the outright Big Ten Championship with its 2-1 double-overtime win over No. 19 Northwestern on Sunday. The Nittany Lions earned their second-consecutive title and fifth overall.

Down 1-0 in the second half, Penn State’s Jordan Tyler found the back of the net on a header in the 89th minute, sending the match into overtime. With two minutes remaining in double overtime, Tyler scored the game-winning goal. Penn State earned the Big Ten regular season crown and extended its Big Ten play to 5-0-0.

Penn State earned the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten Men’s Soccer Tournament, including a first-round bye. The Big Ten Men’s Soccer Tournament will be held at Ohio State beginning Nov. 13.
