Big Ten Network and CSTV to Televise Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament, Men's Soccer Championship and Women's Soccer Tournament

Park Ridge, Ill. - The Big Ten office announced today that the Big Ten Network and CSTV will televise the upcoming Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament, Men's Soccer Championship and Women's Soccer Tournament, providing television coverage of the semifinals and finals for all three events for the first time in conference history.

The television coverage begins next weekend at the 2007 Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament, which will take place on the campus of Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio from Nov. 1-4. The Big Ten Network will provide live coverage of both semifinals on Friday, Nov. 2, at Noon and 2 p.m. ET, while Sunday's championship game will appear on a tape-delay basis on CSTV at 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

The Big Ten Network and CSTV will also combine to televise the semifinals and finals of the 2007 Big Ten Men's Soccer Championship and Women's Soccer Tournament to be played from Nov. 8-11. The men's event will be hosted by Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich., while the women's tournament will be played on the campus of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn. On Friday, Nov. 9, the Big Ten Network will produce a live broadcast of the Men's Soccer Championship semifinals at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. ET. The semifinals of the Women's Soccer Tournament will be played later Friday night at 6 and 9 p.m. ET and will be broadcast by the Big Ten Network on a tape delay basis early Saturday morning at 1 and 3 a.m. ET. The women's semifinals will also re-air on the Big Ten Network on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 8 and 10 a.m. ET. The championship contests of both events will be played on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. ET with the Big Ten Network providing live coverage of both title games on either a regional basis or alternate channels. CSTV will also carry the men's championship game live on Sunday and will run the women's championship contest on a tape-delay basis at 6 p.m. ET.

Entering last weekend's action, the Big Ten had 23 nationally-ranked Olympic sports programs in the fall season, including top-10 teams in men's cross country (No. 6 Wisconsin), women's cross country (No. 6 Michigan, No. 7 Michigan State and No. 8 Minnesota), field hockey (No. 4 Michigan, No. 5 Iowa, No. 7 Michigan State and No. 9 Penn State), men's soccer (No. 9 Northwestern), women's soccer (No. 4 Purdue) and volleyball (No. 2 Penn State and No. 8 Wisconsin).
