Northwestern defeats Penn State to claim Big Ten title, 2-1
Northwestern claimed its first Big Ten Tournament title this afternoon with a 2-1 win over Penn State at U-M Soccer Stadium. The Wildcats used two second half goals from Peter O'Neill and Oliver Kupe to defeat the Nittany Lions.

The Big Ten Men's Soccer championship has begun in Ann Arbor, Mich., with No. 7 Penn State taking on No. 1 Northwestern. The final will be televised live on BTN.
No. 7 Penn State Takes Down No. 3 Wisconsin, 1-0
Seventh-seeded Penn State moves on to the Big Ten championship after defeating third-seeded Wisconsin 1-0 in the semifinals. Penn State's Minh Vu scored the game-winner in the 29th minute to propel the Nittany Lions to the title game. Penn State will face Northwestern at Noon ET on Sunday.
No. 1 Northwestern Edges No. 4 Indiana, 3-2 on penalty kicks
Top-seeded Northwestern advanced to the Big Ten championship game after defeating fourth-seeded Indiana 3-2 on penalty kicks this afternoon at U-M Soccer Stadium. Tied 1-1 after 110 minutes, the Wildcats used three penalty kicks from Reed Losee, Peter O'Neill and Nick Gendron to move on to Sunday's title game. Indiana's Eriq Zavaleta opened the scoring in the 19th minute, while an own goal in the 77th minute knotted the score at one. The Wildcats will face the winner of Penn State-Wisconsin on Sunday at Noon ET.
Big Ten Tournament Semifinals is Underway
The Big Ten Tournament semifinals is underway with No. 1 seed Northwestern taking on No. 4 seed Indiana in the first match of the day. Game two will feature No. 7 Penn State against No. 3 Wisconsin at 3:30 p.m. ET. Both matches will be televised live on BTN.
No. 3 Wisconsin Defeats No. 6 Michigan, 2-0
Third-seeded Wisconsin used two second half goals to defeat sixth-seeded Michigan (2-0) in the final game of the first round. Wisconsin's Nick Janus scored the game-winner in the 83rd minute before Josh Thiermann tacked on another goal in the 88th. The Badgers will face Penn State in the semifinal round on Friday.
No. 7 Penn State Takes Down No. 2 Ohio State, 2-0
Seventh-seeded Penn State pulled off the tournament's first upset, defeating No. 2 Ohio State (2-0) in the second game of the day. Penn State's Matt Smallwood scored the first goal of the match in the 9th minute, while teammate Julian Cardona scored in the 48th. The Nittany Lions face the winner of Wisconsin-Michigan on Friday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
No. 4 Indiana Defeats No. 5 Michigan State, 2-1
Fourth-seeded Indiana moves on to the Big Ten Tournament semifinals with a 2-1 win over fifth-seeded Michigan State. Indiana's Nikita Kotlov opened the scoring in the 38th minute and teammate Alec Purdie recorded a goal in the 46th. Eriq Zavaleta assisted on both Hoosiers scores. Indiana will take on Northwestern in Friday's first semifinal game.
