Notre Dame defeats Ohio State, 2-1
Despite controlling play for the majority of the contest, the Ohio State men’s soccer team fell short against the defending champs and No. 1 seed Notre Dame, 2-1, in the second round of the 2014 NCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament on a soaked Sunday night in Notre Dame, Ind. Tied 1-1 at half, the Fighting Irish (12-4-4) were able to put away the eventual game-wininng goal in the 69th minute to advance in the tournament. The Buckeyes conclude the 2014 season with a 9-8-5 overall record.

UMBC defeats Maryland, 1-0
The UMBC men’s soccer team snapped Maryland’s 12-year streak of consecutive trips to the Sweet Sixteen with a 1-0 victory Sunday night in the second round of the 2014 NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship at Ludwig Field.

Syracuse defeats Penn State, 2-1
Despite a season high eight saves from keeper Andrew Wolverton (Atlanta, Ga.) and goal from forward Connor Maloney (Harrisburg, Pa.), the Penn State men's soccer team fell to No. 9 seeded Syracuse 2-1 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, Sunday at the SU Soccer Stadium. PSU's second trip to the 48-team tournament in as many years came to an end following a Syracuse goal in the 83rd minute, which broke a 1-1 tie and sent the Orange onto the round of 16. Penn State finishes the 2014 campaign with 13-6-1 record, while SU improved to 16-3-1.

Michigan State defeats Oakland, 1-0
The No. 13 Michigan State men's soccer team shut down Oakland, 1-0, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday. The Spartans advance with a 12-4-5 record after the match.

Xavier defeats Indiana, 2-1
Indiana searched for a goal, but fell short in a 2-1 loss to Xavier (15-5-2) in an NCAA Tournament second round match Sunday afternoon at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington.
The Hoosiers end the 2014 campaign with a 12-5-5 record.

Penn State defeats Hartwick, 2-1
Two second half goals, capped off by Penn State sophomore Brett Gravatt's first of the season proved to be the difference as the Nittany Lions men's soccer team (13-5-1) defeated Hartwick (6-10-4).

Ohio State ties Akron, 1-1; Ohio State advances after 15 PK rounds

In the first-round match of the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament, the Ohio State men's soccer team advanced past Akron in a 1-1 double overtime tie after a 15-round (13-12, OSU wins) finish on penalty kicks at Bert L. & Iris S. Wolstein Field in Columbus. The Buckeyes (9-7-5) will now travel to face No. 1 seed Notre Dame (11-4-4) in the second round at 7 p.m. ET Sunday in South Bend, Ind.

SIU-Edwardsville defeats Northwestern, 1-0

Despite dominating possession and playing the majority of the game in the offensive half of the field, the Wildcats were eliminated from the 2014 NCAA Tournament on Thursday night in a 1-0 loss to SIU-Edwardsville.
