The second seed Indiana men's soccer team will look to win back-to-back NCAA National Championships when it faces ninth seed UC-Santa Barbara in the title game. The match in set for Sunday, Dec. 12, at 4:00 p.m. ET. The Hoosiers will have the opportunity to avenge a loss earlier in the season to UCSB. The Gauchos defeated the Hoosiers, 1-0, in double overtime at the adidas/Crescent Financial Solutions Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., on Sept. 18.
The Gauchos advanced to the title match with a 5-0 domination of Duke in the second national semifinal. UCSB scored just over a minute into the match and never looked back with two first half and three in the second stanza. Indiana advanced to the title match with a come-from-behind 3-2 double overtime victory over third seed Maryland.
The game will be televised live on ESPN2 with Rob Stone, Eric Wynalda and Beth Mowins on the call. The championship match can also be heard in Bloomington on WGCL AM-1370 with Chicago Fire play-by-play announcer Chris Doran and former Hoosier Vijay Dias on the call.
