The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) released its weekly rankings on Tuesday with Michigan State, Indiana, Maryland and Penn State garnering recognition among the top 25, while Ohio State and Northwestern were also receiving votes.
Michigan State came in at No. 8 this week. The Spartans closed out the season with a 4-2-2 conference record (12-5-6 overall mark).
Indiana claimed the No. 17 position on the ballot. The Hoosiers completed the 2014 campaign with a 3-3-2 Big Ten record (12-5-5 overall mark).
Maryland secured the No. 19 spot. The Terrapins finished out their debut Big Ten season with a 5-2-1 conference record (13-6-3 overall mark).
Penn State cracked this week’s poll at No. 23. The Nittany Lions finished out this season with a 5-3-0 conference record (13-6-1 overall mark).
Also receiving votes on the poll were Ohio State and Northwestern. The Buckeyes closed out this season with a 5-3-0 conference mark (9-8-5 overall record), while the Wildcats completed the season with a 4-1-3 Big Ten record (9-4-6 overall mark).
