The conference office announced on Tuesday the 11th weekly men’s swimming and diving honors for meets from Dec. 29 through Jan. 4. Michigan’s Chris Brady was tabbed Swimmer and Diver of the Week after posting three top finishes at the Orange Bowl Classic on Saturday.

Senior Chris Brady won two individual events and was part of the winning 200-meter freestyle relay team to help Michigan win the Orange Bowl Classic inside the Jacobs Aquatics Center last weekend. The meet was conducted in short course meters, marking only the second outing for the Wolverines in a meter pool this season.  The Wilmington, Del., native claimed top honors in the 50-meter freestyle, touching the wall in 22.95.  He followed that performance with a 24.41 effort in the 50-meter butterfly before leading off the victorious 200-meter freestyle relay team (1:34.32). U-M won all 12 events at the event to earn its second team title of the year with a composite team score of 599 points – 180 points ahead of runner-up Duke. This is the first weekly swimming award for Brady’s career.
