Swimmer of the Week

Justin Mortimer, Minnesota

Mortimer went unbeaten for the Golden Gophers in dominating dual wins over Conference opponents Purdue (218-135) and Wisconsin (268-95) last weekend.  He won four individual events, including the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:00.08) as he touched first by over 15 seconds.  The senior also claimed victories in the 400-yard individual medley (3:54.83) and earned provisional times in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events in 1:38.55 and 4:25.38, respectively.  The Milton, Mass., native also swam the second leg of the Gophers' 800-yard freestyle relay squad that cruised to the wall in a winning time of 6:37.94.

This is Mortimer's second weekly accolade of the season and third of his career.

Diver of the Week

Richeson earns Diver of the Week honors for the second time this season and fourth of his career after two strong performances over the weekend for the Buckeyes.  In a win against Michigan State (127-102), he scored a season high 361.87 off the 1-meter board to claim the event title and earned a third place finish on the 3-meter board (315.37).  The Greenfield, Ind., native then swept the competition in a loss against Michigan with scores of 381.52 and 329.40 on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards, respectively.
