Indiana and Purdue Garner Conference Recognition

The conference office announced on Tuesday the weekly men's swimming and diving honors. Indiana's Eric Ress was tabbed Swimmer of the Week, while Purdue's David Boudia earned Diver of the Week laurels. Men's Swimmer of the Week Indiana's Eric Ress earns his second Swimmer of the Week award this season after winning two individual events and setting a pair of pool records as the Hoosiers topped No. 18 Louisville and Virginia Tech last weekend. Ress won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 47.55, an NCAA provisional time and a new Ralph Wright Natatorium record. He swept the backstroke events with a winning time of 1:45.43 in the 200, also an NCAA provisional mark and new pool record. The sophomore earned two more provisional marks in the 200 medley relay (1:29.76) and 500 freestyle (4:28.26). Last Indiana Men's Swimmer of the Week: Titus Knight (Jan. 11, 2011) Men's Diver of the Week Purdue's David Boudia earns his eighth Diver of the Week award of the season after setting two new records at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center last weekend. He scored 522.00 points off the 3-meter board, breaking his own school record, and crushing a pool record with a score of 458.70 points in the one-meter competition. On the opening day of the USA Diving Winter Nationals, he teamed with Duke's Nick McCrory to post the top preliminary score in the synchronized platform competition with a mark of 449.52.
