Michigan Claims Lead After Day One of Big Ten Championships

Michigan jumped out to an early lead after Wednesday's opening session at the 2012 Big Ten Men's Swimming and Diving Championships in Iowa City, Iowa. The Wolverines recorded 80 points, followed by Ohio State with 66. Indiana sits in third with 60 points, while Minnesota and Wisconsin are tied for fourth with 54 points. 

The Wolverines began the evening with a victory in the 200 medley relay (1:25.58), followed by an NCAA automatic qualifying mark in the 800 freestyle relay event (6:16.26).

Action continues on Thursday with preliminaries set for 11 a.m. CT, with the finals set for 6:30 p.m.
