Big Ten Issues Public Reprimand to Ohio State Diving Coach

The Big Ten Conference office announced today a public reprimand of Ohio State diving coach Vince Panzano for violating the Big Ten Sportslike Conduct Agreement. In accordance with penalties established in Big Ten Conference Agreement 10.01.1.A.3, the Conference publicly reprimands Panzano for his comments and actions during the 2006 Big Ten Men's Swimming and Diving Championships held from February 23-25 in Bloomington, Ind. "The behavior of Vince Panzano has no place at the Big Ten Championships or in the sport of swimming and diving," Commissioner James E. Delany said. "Any use of inappropriate or provocative language towards an official, student-athlete, coach or spectator will not be tolerated." The Big Ten Conference considers this matter concluded and will have no further comment.
