At the conclusion of Day 1 of the 2009 NCAA Men's Swimming and Divining Championships, Michigan fronts the conference in seventh place, earning 78 points. Minnesota follows closely behind in the 12th position as the Gophers totaled 32 team points. Purdue recorded 24 points while holding down the 13th spot. Ohio State garnered 13 points after the first day of competition as the Buckeyes sit in 20th. Penn State and Indiana tallied six and five points, respectively after Thursday's finals.
