Park Ridge, Ill. - The 104th season of Big Ten men's swimming and diving will get underway this weekend. To begin the 2013-14 campaign, Iowa and Michigan will compete in a dual meet on Friday beginning at 5 p.m. ET.
Last season, Michigan won its 37th Big Ten title and was crowned national champions for the 12th time. The Hawkeyes finished seventh at the 2013 Big Ten Championships. The two squads last met during the 2000-01 season.
The rest of the Big Ten swimming and diving teams will begin their seasons next month. On Friday, Oct. 4, Wisconsin will start its season at Georgia, while Minnesota will host Arizona State on Oct. 5. Indiana will travel to California on Oct. 11 and Ohio State will compete at Kentucky.
On Oct. 18, Northwestern will welcome Eastern Michigan, Penn State will host West Virginia and the Purdue diving team will travel to Miami (Ohio). Michigan State will begin its season on Nov. 8 against Grand Valley State.
