PARK RIDGE, Ill. – The 2011-12 season of Big Ten men’s swimming and diving begins today with Wisconsin and Michigan State in action at home. The Badgers welcome Milwaukee to Madison for a 5 p.m. CT dual meet. On Saturday, the Spartans host Cleveland State and Oakland at 1 p.m. ET for an outdoor meet.

Michigan and Purdue begin their campaigns the following weekend. The Wolverines travel to Notre Dame on Oct. 14 for the Dennis Stark Relays, while the Boilermakers stay in West Lafayette on Oct. 15 for the Indiana Intercollegiates.

Iowa begins its season on Oct. 20, when the Hawkeyes travel to Madison to take on the Badgers. Northwestern, Indiana and Penn State will open their seasons the same weekend. The Wildcats visit Ypsilanti, Mich., on Oct. 21, to take on Eastern Michigan. On Oct. 22, the Hoosiers visit Knoxville, Tenn., to take on Tennessee and Kentucky, while the Nittany Lions host West Virginia.

Minnesota and Ohio State take to the pool on Oct. 28. The Golden Gophers open on the road against Wisconsin, while the Buckeyes host Kenyon in Columbus.
