Big Ten Ready to Divie Into 2009-10 Season

The 2009-10 season of Big Ten men's swimming and diving begins Friday, Oct. 9, with four conference teams in action. Purdue and Wisconsin will open their campaigns at home, while Iowa and Michigan prepare to hit the road for their respecitve season openers. Iowa will take to the water on Friday, as the Hawkeyes travel to Kirksville, Mo., to meet Truman State in a 5 p.m. (CT) dual meet. Also on Friday, defending Big Ten Champions Michigan will kick off its season at the Dennis Stark Relays hosted by the University of Notre Dame.

Penn State will dive into its season in a road contest against St. Bonaventure on Oct. 13. The following week, three conference teams will take to the water as Michigan State travels to Iowa City to face Iowa and Wisconsin-Milwaukee in a tri-meet, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23. Meanwhile, Indiana and Northwestern will open their season slates in a Big Ten showdown in Evnaston, Ill.  Minnesota and Ohio State will return to the water the following week on Oct. 30.
