The conference office announced on Tuesday the second weekly men’s swimming and diving awards for the 2009 season. 

Men’s Swimmer of the Week:
Brian Alden, Penn State

Sophomore Brian Alden garnered his first career weekly laurel after leading the Penn State men’s swimming and diving team to a decisive victory over St. Bonaventure in its 2009-10 season opener. The Nittany Lions captured eight event titles to top the Bonnies 144-97, with Alden leading the way with a pair of individual wins and a third in the 200 freestyle-relay.  The Lansdale, Pa., native won the 200 free event by an amazing 4.4 seconds and took the 100 free by a 1.5 second-margin. In the relay, Alden was the first in the water for the Nittany Lion squad, which won by a narrow eight-tenths of a second.
