Swimmer of the Week

Aaron Opell, Indiana
Jr., Newburgh, Ind. / Castle

For the second consecutive meet, Opell swept all of his events, claiming the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke, 400 individual medley and swimming the breaststroke leg of the 400 medley relay in a 159-129 victory over Northwestern.  he posted times of 57.17 (100 breast), 2:04.71 (200 breast), 3:57.94 (400 individual medley) and 3:23.61 (400 medley relay).  The junior remains undefeated in the 100 and 200 breaststroke this season and claims the first weekly award of his career.

Diver of the Week

Landon Marzullo, Indiana
So., Columbus, Ohio / Worthington Kilbourne

Marzullo is awarded Big Ten Diver of the Week for the second straight week, giving him four laurels in his career.  The sophomore remains undefeated from both the one- and three-meter heights as he posted scores of 352.30 and 393.05, respectively.  Both point totals exceed NCAA consideration.  With Marzullo’s two first-place finishes, Indiana defeated Northwestern 159-129 in last Friday’s dual.
