Swimmer of the Week

Mike Alexandrov, Northwestern
SO, Champaign, Ill./Centennial
Alexandrov earns the first weekly honor of his career after setting three pool records in a 148-152 loss to Purdue on Friday.  The sophomore helped keep the Wildcats close as he swept the breaststroke events with pool records, winning the 100 (54.29) and 200 (1:58.10).  Alexandrov also posted another pool record in the 200-yard individual medley (1:49.01) and was part of the winning 400 medley relay team that finished first in 3:17.09.  All of Alexandrov's times were NCAA provisional qualifying marks.

Diver of the Week

Josh Karshen, Purdue
JR, Alsip, Ill./Alan B. Shepard
Karshen collects his first-ever Diver of the Week accolade after recording a pair of season-best performances in both the one-meter and three-meter competitions in a 152-148 victory over Northwestern last weekend.  Karshen was part of a diving contingent that scored 32 points and swept the top three spots in each event.  The junior placed third in the one-meter board with a score of 300.23 and first in the three-meter (311.63).  Both scores were NCAA regional zone qualifying marks.
