The conference office announced on Tuesday the seventh weekly men’s swimming and diving awards for meets through Nov. 16-22. Northwestern’s Sean Mathews was tabbed Swimmer of the Week and David Boudia nabbed Purdue’s third straight weekly diving award.
Men’s Swimmer of the Week:
Sean Mathews, Northwestern
Jr. - St. Louis, Mo. – Lafayette
Sean Mathews was the individual high-point scorer at the 2009 TYR Invitational featuring Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Cleveland State, Illinois-Chicago and 30-time defending NCAA Division III champion Kenyon. Mathews racked up a pair of NCAA-B cuts comprised of a convincing win in the 200 fly (1:47.35) and as a member of the 800 free relay (6:41.48). He also took first in the 100 fly, second in the 50 fly and third in the 200 individual medley. In addition to the 800 free relay, Mathews contributed to NU's winning 200 medley and 200 free quartets, as well as a second-place 400 free relay and third-place 400 medley relay.

Men’s Diver of the Week:
David Boudia, Purdue
So. - Noblesville, Ind. - Indiana
Purdue sophomore David Boudia swept the springboard diving events at the Purdue Invitational in his first competition of the season. The Noblesville, Ind., native first claimed the one-meter title with his score of 397.80 points. Boudia, the defending NCAA champion in the three-meter and platform, then scored 469.80 points off the three-meter to claim his second win in as many days. Boudia's scores guarantee all six Boilermaker divers will compete at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships in March. This marks the eighth weekly diving award for Boudia who collected seven laurels during his freshman campaign in 2008-09.
