Swimmer of the Week

Vanderkaay earns Swimmer of the Week laurels after posting four top-three individual finishes, including four NCAA automatic times and a personal record, at the Texas Invitational last weekend.  The junior finished first in the 500-yard freestyle with an NCAA automatic time of 4:15.32.  Vanderkaay also earned automatic qualifying marks in the 400-yard individual medley (3:45.74), 200-yard freestyle (1:35.85) and 1,650-yard freestyle (14:47.99) and set a PR in the 100-yard freestyle with a consideration time of 44.34.  The Rochester, Mich. native was part of five Wolverine relays, including the 800-yard free relay that finished first in 6:24.88. 

This is Vanderkaay's first weekly award of the season and seventh overall.  The Wolverines finished fourth out of a 12-team field that included No. 2 USC, No. 5 Arizona, No. 6 California and No. 8 Texas. 

Diver of the Week

Taylor Roberts, Indiana

Roberts collects his first career Diver of the Week award after helping Indiana to a pair of dual meet victories over Iowa (185.5-93.5) and Southern Illinois (156-131).  The freshman placed in the top two of both diving events, finishing second in the one-meter board (310.90), less than two points behind teammate Marc Carlton and first in the three-meter event (325.85).
