Men's Tennis Opens 2007 Slate This Weekend

PARK RIDGE, IL - The 2007 Big Ten men's tennis season kicks off this weekend with six teams in action.

Illinois opens its non-conference season at the J. Webb Horton Classic in Ft. Myers, Fla., on Thursday. Northwestern hosts a pair of matches during the weekend with cross-town foe DePaul on Friday and Louisville on Sunday.

On Saturday, Michigan hits the court in the Miami Invitation in Coral Gables, Fla., while Purdue enters its own Boilermaker Invitational. Michigan State also gets things going with a double-header featuring Toledo and Wright State.

Indian also kicks its season off with a Monday double-header against Morehead State and IPFW at home.

The reigning Big Ten Champion Ohio State Buckeyes travel to Texas on Jan. 19 for the Houston Rice Invitational. Iowa, Minnesota, Penn State and Wisconsin will begin their respective 2007 campaigns the following weekend, Jan. 26-28.
