Hanus was perfect in Northwestern opening the season with a pair of wins, as the senior was a perfect 2-0 in doubles competition alongside Adam Schaechterle and also recorded a singles win. Hanus and Schaechterle won their doubles matches by counts of 8-4 and 8-2, while Hanus added a straight-set victory against Western Michigan, 6-4, 7-5.

This is Hanus' first career Athlete of the Week selection.  He is the first Wildcat player to claim the weekly honor since Brad Erickson on March 22, 2001.
