Bryan Koniecko, Ohio State
So., Long Island, N.Y./Syosset

The Big Ten's reigning Freshman of the Year, Koniecko earns the first weekly award of his career after leading third-ranked Ohio State to a sweep of 13th-ranked Florida State on Sunday.  With the Seminole shut-out, the Buckeyes improved to 4-0 and extended their home win-streak to 44.

Koniecko's play is keeping him in the top singles spot despite sharing a roster with the nation's top-ranked singles player, fellow sophomore Steven Moneke.  Koniecko is 3-0 at No. 1 singles after claiming a straight-set victory against Florida State's Ytai Abougzir. He also teamed with Moneke for win at No. 3 doubles.  This marks the first Athlete of the Week honor for a Buckeye since Scott Green shared the award with Illinois' Kevin Anderson on Apr. 26.
