So. – Lapid, Israel – Chof Hasharon
Minnesota’s Ishay Hadash garners his first-ever weekly laurel after helping Minnesota extend its winning streak to eight straight matches for the first time since 2003 with wins over East Tennessee State and Western Michigan last week. In Saturday’s first contest against the Buccaneers, Hadash knocked off the nation's 15th-ranked Enrique Olivares, winning the last four games of the second set for a 7-6, 6-2 victory. Hadash also posted a doubles win for the Gophers, teaming with Phillip Arndt for an 8-2 victory at No. 2. Later that day against Western Michigan, the sophomore Gopher defeated Kevin Hayward 6-0, 6-2, at No. 1 singles and went on to post his fourth win of the day with an 8-1 triumph at No. 2 doubles. With the award, Hadash becomes the first Gopher to earn a weekly honor since 2005.
