Penn State's Bourchier Earns Men's Tennis Weekly Honors

Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week Penn State's Eddie Bourchier helped the No. 70 Nittany Lions to two wins over the weekend en route to the second Big Ten Athlete of the Week award of his career. Bourchier picked up two wins against Navy, teaming with Russell Bader at No. 1 doubles to defeat Owen Bullard and Nick Birger, 8-5, before earning a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 2 singles against Marcus Rebersak in Penn State's 6-1 victory. He followed with two more wins against Villanova, again pairing with Bader for an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles over Trenton Alenik and Thomas O'Brien before winning a 7-5, 6-3 contest against David Shaheen at No. 1 singles. The senior's performance helped the Nittany Lions to a 6-1 win over the Wildcats. Bourchier also competed at No. 1 singles and doubles in Penn State's narrow 4-3 loss to South Florida.
